THE HIP HOP PARTY FOR CHANGE
"We The People!"

OUR POLITICAL MOVEMENT
Empowering the Community
Political education in America, is taught improperly, because it is based in racism and a need to oppress a specific group of people in order to create margins for the people in the middle. The Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (C.I.R.C.L.E.), estimates that voter turnout among young people ages 18-19 was 46%. They suggest that this age group deserves special attention because they are the newest eligible voters, so their electoral participation, or lack thereof can provide a window into how well—and how equitably—we are preparing and priming youth to participate in democracy. Founded in 2020, as a response to the suffering of disenfranchised Americans, The Hip Hop Party for Change was born to challenge the political norm.
Hip Hop is the only American export that has performed well in every global market and to that point it has proved its inclusivity by providing a space for every intersectional identity. Hip Hop is a culture born from a desire to succeed despite the odds and we use this model as our approach to teaching youth about government. Our leadership team has joined with several Social Justice NPOs across Baltimore, to affect change for these marginalized youth from throughout our community in Baltimore and eventually across Maryland and throughout the nation. Our goal is to prepare the next generation of voters and candidates who truly believe in "Justice for All!" By teaching political education to youth from Pre-K through first voting season.
